幾何学模様の彫刻の雰囲気も良く、

壁掛けのアートとしてお勧めです。

アフリカの仮面は大変歴史が深く、

少なくとも紀元前後にまで遡るとされます。

主に、西〜中央アフリカの農耕民族の間で、

民族の祭礼（農耕祭・葬儀・成人式・秘密結社の儀式など）の中で、

仮面や衣装を身につけた踊り手によるダンスが行われるなど、

仮面はアフリカの伝統社会のなかで重要な役割を果たします。
